PT Semen Tonasa cement plant remains in normal operation despite damage causd by a fire on Wednesday to one of its facilities at the Unit IV plant, South Sulawesi, the Jakarta Post reports. The fire, which broke out at the coal mill transport belt resulted in one fatality with 10 others injured. Semen Tonasa plans Papua factory, Indonesia

PT Semen Tonasa plans to develop a new factory in Papua with a total investment of up to IDR3trn (US$247.08m), to cut distribution costs, according to its CEO, Unggul Atas. Sales in the eastern provinces of Papua and Maluku until August reached 787,408t, down 1.5 per cent from a year earlier. PT Pelayaran Tonasa Lines & PT Dok & Perkapalan Surabaya are to build 11 shipping vessel unitswith an investment of IDR1.26trn (US$137m) and have signed three cooperation contracts, Bisnis Indonesia reports.
